Anyone care to comment on this track for me? Hopefully it's the final mix!

Hey man im listening on small computer speakers so I can't really comment on the mix too much. This really reminds me of something Pantera would have done for their Vulgar/Far beyond driven Era. Sounds well done for what it is. The snare is sticking out to me. It doesn't sound like its in the same space as everything else. The guitars/bass/kicks have a really tight almost compressed/eq'd to heck and back type sound (which isn't bad) and the snare just kind of sounds like its in someones practice room. Thats really my only complaint without getting on my monitors.

Great and huge mix. Like Chris said, I can only find a bit of need in the snare, its a bit boxy. Maybe try run a mult to an eq, take out 450Hz a bit, add about 8db of 100Hz, 5db of 5k, and smack it a tiny bit with a dbx 160 style compressor. Needs a bit more spank. HUGE mix otherwise.

Thanks for the comments guys, the snare was a real drama, I'm not really excited by it but I think it is acceptable compared to the raw sound. It had a pair of 57's on it and was recorded in my spare bedroom. The rest of the drums came out pretty good but there must be some strange things going on around 4-500hz in the spare room. It really does sound kind of seperate from the rest of the kit but was recorded in place.

I'll give your tips a go for my own benefit Bang, but the whole album is done and I don't want to remix/master the whole lot!
