| here's an emo punk pop mix for all ya'll the link is http://mywebpages.comcast.net/j.luzi...umiliation.mp3 cool title. this is a christian emo-ish punk pop band i did a mix for. couple disclaimers... 1. the noise is really noticeable because the tracks were recorded very very very very soft.... i think the band recorded it themselves on something like a vs1680. 2. i can't do much about the lead vocal... i think they printed some kind of chorus and/or delay effect to it. 3. some files i received were with guitars and vocals together in the same file... mostly the "down" chorus. 4. the song is kinda long... 5:25 minutes. it really needs to be about 3:30 for this style... save the 5:25 version for the live show.... there is just to many breaks and arrangement sections for my taste.... but they can ham it up during those sections ina live performance. couple questions... does this track lack a little low end? does the vocal level work in this setting? shout back yo! jer |

| i think the guitars should be re-tracked completely, sounds like a crate amp with the mic directly in the center of the cone. If thats not an option, add some 150-300hz on the guitar and cut a little 3.5k-6k. Vocals sound great and so do the sample-ish drums (which are a must for that style) Bass could use some 2-3k too.

| I like such music ![]() 2 cents: drum reverbs less density, more the spx90 types, early refl etc.. or a total punk room with a fit SIR impulse. less/shorter reverb on the vocal, especially in the "unplugged" parts. (same idea as with drums..) you could denoise the voc track in the sound editor, then recover some brightness and adjust the reverb to the new situation. "waves" or "audition" denoisers should be sufficient. "algorithmix" is quite good! not taking part in the pop vs punk discussion (...), but I have no big issue with the guitars, maybe a tad more body but then everything changes..
