| Gear maniac | So I recorded this intense band today.. So I got to the house, they wanted me to bring my stuff which I offer to some of the younger groups which is fine. they wanted a single to be recorded. well I got the drum track down, no trouble, a good and easy to record drummer. the guitar was out of tune though. Itold the guy with like 10 earing u know, hey man your guitar is a little out of tune. he says I know, but i want it like that. so I just go well ok. tell me what you think tho, im wondering your opinions. thnx http://www.mydocsonline.com/pub/PlatinumAero/kyleV.mp3

| Im on small computer speakers right now so I won't make any major mix comments. Guitars-I think tuning is prob the least of that guys worries, the intro is really sloppy and just sounds like he didn't try at all or didn't practice for that matter. Ok so I guess thats not your fault. The guitar tone is a little buzzy sounding for my taste and the tuning is driving me nuts but you already pointed that out. If the guitars were in tune and the guy could double his tracks (which seems doubtful, since he doesn't seem "on" with one track) then you could probably achieve a fuller guitar sound. Bass-I didn't really catch any on these small speakers. You might want to eq a little hole for it to pop through better or it may be a compression thing. Hard to say without listening on monitors. Drums- Probably the better part of the mix and the band for that matter. They sounded pretty balanced might could be brighter with a little more snap but I don't know how that would sit with the rest of the stuff. Vocals-The singers pitch is all over the place. Not much you can do for that short of retracking. Not like it would help with the out of tune guitars though. It sounds like your off to a good start. The band could definitely use some tightening up but like I said before, I guess thats not your problem. |

| ehhhm???......................very self-confident band i agree with wireneck i think you have done your job well...bass a little to much low end und to less midfeqs...but im not shure if that really matters... btw if all´s so oblique why not mixing in mono? sounds better to me ... no joke! peace andreas |
