14 year old rock band

They recorded this in a small project studio, live off the floor except vocal.
They are 14, the drummer and bassplayer have been playing their instrumentsfor only a year!
Its a little wonky in spots but still very cool.
I wonder how they will be at 15?

I like em..!

At a South By South West festival a few years back, I saw a band that were all fifteen except the singer who was 12. They were called Slithern

As I looked round the hall there were folks just staring with their mouths open!

The band I was with thought they were fantastic, it was great show. Cory from Slipknot was producing them, the demos sounded amazing too.

No... they are amped. If you listen to the 2nd posting, at the end there is tube rattle on the power chord fade out.

What's appealing about them is their freshness, they are discovering this stuff for the first time with big goofy grins on their faces. If they can stay thay way as long as they can and not get jaded by the business side of things they should have staying power. I like it!

Yea man, its the exuberance that shines through. For me, the 'timing irregularities' aren't spellbreakers.

They are having fun while being bad lyrically (from what I can decypher).

I was present at the guitar players (on the right) christening, been patiently waiting ever since...

Seriously, I have known his parents for close to 20 years now. They love music and play records and cd's all the time around the house. I think that their taste was an influence even though their son would ever admit that right now, he's 14 after all! But you can hear/feel the sensability. He is the main songwriter arranger. And he is essentially the one who taught the bassplayer to play.

When his dad sent me the CD, at first (before I played it) I was thinking 'uh-oh how can I be honest and not lose a long time friend'.
Well as you can hear I had no worries.
No shopping or deals are going to happen anytime soon.
The kids aren't really ready yet anyway.
The drummer, singer, bassplayer all need to find themselves a little more.

Yea, they could be Pro-tooled into submission, but that will cripple the bands psyche, as they will always be trying to imitate that unnatural 'perfection' trying to live up to their cyborg selves, killing the exuberance and spirit that is so engaging.

Shoot, I haven't even posted the 'hit' song yet.

Wow! I think thatīs pretty tight for just kids who canīt be rehearsing for too many years.

On the refreshing note, Iīm having a slightly similar case here. Am tracking a trio of twens who maybe arenīt re-inventing the wheel, but who have drive and ideas.

I shall post some stuff later on if they allow.
