Mix metal band - Hacride

Hi guys !

This is a mix I did for a french metal band (I'm french too) with few gear (presonus digimax lt, sm 57 mics, rode NT1 etc...) and nuendo. It was mastered by JP.Bouquet.

http://www.hacride.com/site/download...DE_Protect.mp3

If you've got an advice do not hesitate to tell me !!

Thanks.

I love the guitars! The sound is so extraordinarily good! Vox are cool too.

Is it just me or are the MP3's posted getting better and more of a super caliber?

I better get back to work...I got quite aways to catch up. lol

I can't offer anything mix wise. This is alot better than anything I can pull off.
This is some cool stuff, im sensing alot of different influence. When the vocals first came in I was thinking Meshuggah but then it goes into the almost Panterai-ish pinch harmonics and stuff. Then later on its almost Dillinger Escape Plannish. The sax was cool, brought an element of weirdness into this. Really cool stuff all around. Are you in the band or did you just do the recording?

Hi Wireneck !

Thanks for your opinion.

I'm not on the band, I just did the recording, but I'm with the guys on tour too. You can check another mp3 on the website (in french) www.hacride.com if you want...

Good job man

Sounds big time like a fav band of mine called Meshugga (minus all the crazy messed up time signatures but sound wise it's there)

Hi LongWave,

Thanks !

About the kick, no trig on it, just one sm57 inside with extreme hi freq EQ and comp with short attack and slow release (I don't remember the ratio), one beta 52 outside near the hole, and a last but not least: a good drumer About the pre: presonus digimax LT ( )

Krucy: Héhé !! thanks bro' ;)

Hi Bang ! Thanks for your advice.

About EQ I use Nuendo EQ, not so bad on guitar. I use Q10 too, perfect to clean freq, and sometimes Renaissance EQ from Waves.

Krucy> I don't have particular method. I only know that I test everything until I like the sound :)
