Ok - where's the big picture?

I'd love some opinions on the overall tonal balance of these mixes. Just a 2nd opinion on how the whole thing works/doesn't. The different stereos in my house are giving me very different impressions of low end vs. mid / mid vs. high end etc. etc.

The second song is a fairly rough mix, but I thought I'd throw it up since the first song doesn't have vocals.
Both are Unmastered.

Song1.wav ---- WAV file

Nothing personal either..

I think you need new heads on the drums or something...I don't like the way they sound. Maybe it's the room? If you don't wanna track them again you should look at bass drum and snare drum samples behind them maybe.

Also the snare definetly needs verb

I think the guitars are kind of 'flat' sounding..it's not the in your face sound that i like....which could be so many things.

I think the first song is really cool..something about it that I like.
