| pop/punk band - advice on mix Hello - this is my first post. I'm just finishing up a mix for my band and I'm trying to get some feedback on the mix. Thank you. |

| sounds pretty good these would be my suggestions (opinions) For this style of music I like to copy the bass track in protools and put some light overdrive and lots of high end on it and also dip the lows. Then making sure both tracks are delay compensated mix them accordingly to get more clarity from the bass without losing low-end. I would sample the kick/snare/toms if you really are going for a modern pop/punk sound. Although i don't really hear your song as pop punk really. The vocals seem to not be in your face at all. I dunno if it was how it was recorded or the processing done to it, or a volume issue, or a combination of all. My thoughts... |

Thank you for your input, I really thought I would get a lot more feedback then just one person. I really like your idea with the bass. I will try that and see what result it brings. The singer really like the vocals to sit in the mix rather then stand out, so I'm guessing that it's a combination of both. Thanks again. ![]() | |
