two songs from a rock opera

This is from one of the more fun projects I've done. It's called "Think of the Possibilities" by Flashpot Theater. It's a double-album, soundtrack for an as-yet-unproduced musical. The recording was very sporadic, and stretched over three years. My AE skills improved a whole lot over that time. I had a reeeeeeeeeeeeaaaal fun time patching everything up in the mixing stage. It was a real challenge and got me over the hump from being a mediocre mixer to a great mixer.

The plot: Neil, a good-looking young guy with seven girlfriends, is put on trial by God and has to choose one girl to spend eternity with. Each girl has her own song. (The writer/producer, Gary Jinks, found seven ladies to play the parts.) Neil also sings a song about each girl.

Here's Arabella, Queen of Lust. She's played by Marilyn DeStephano, who in real life is a very proper opera singer.

Here's Neil singing about Ethyl, who is either a girl or a car. Or both.

You can hear more clips at http://cdbaby.com/cd/flashpot

BTW, Gary Jinks is looking for a theater group, professional or otherwise, that is interested in producing this as a musical. Corny plot, lots of laughs, great rock songs. It rocks a lot harder than yer typical Broadway stuff.

Corny plot
and corny music. I'm not sure about this and would hate to make a judgement based upoun the little I've heard.....but on the basis of what I've listened to so far, there doesn't seem to be anything which is origonal or compelling, beyond cliche delivered in a mediocre fashion. that said if it's a musical one needs to hear it in it's entirety. Perhaps I was expecting more when you said it was from a musical but is there anything which is genuinely comic, moving or revealing of character or motivation? Sorry to be so negative but technically it sounds good from a mix point of view, you seem to have done a good job but I feel the lyrical content on this evidence is woeful, which you can get away with in song writing but not in a musical. There is simply too much witty, insightful stuff around already. Apologies for being a **** and I hope I'm wrong.
