Our best sounding production so far

One of four songs my buddy Scott and I wrote and recorded yesterday.... let us know what you think... mix, song, etc....

"Flash"

Instant Gratification: MySpace.com - Electrolic - SAN FRANCISCO, California - Powerpop / Rock / Pop - www.myspace.com/electrolicmusic

Higher Bandwidth: http://www.audibus.com/sgse/Flash_Electrolic.mp3 (5MB 160kbps Mp3)

I'll post a gear run down soon.

Thanks Slutz!

Nice work, I think the mix could be worked on some more:

Drums:
Not heavy enough for me, need some more ambience and harder hits. Kick drum too thin, snare too distant and washed out. Fatten these guys up.

Guitars:
I'm not a tone guru so I cant speak about that but I think that some of the guitar parts get lost a little. Not everything is audible and sometimes they feel muddy. Make them richer and clearer.

Vocals:
Sometimes they are too far forward sometimes too far back. Try compressing differently or some volume automation.

Put the whole song in the same space with shared reverbs and delays. Work on the panning to create a clearer image.

Overall I like that there are some changes and that the song doesn't just repeat a chorus over and over. I think it really just needs some more mix tweaking to make it better. If you go over what you did to each instrument then I can offer more detailed suggestions.

Good luck and keep up the good work.

Great feedback - I'm going to remix again with this feedback - I now notice what you mentioned... the vocals need some automation, etc.

Thanks for taking the time to write that all up... !!!!
