ITB 80's hard rock song..toto/fm and such stuff..any input?

Just a quick tune i wrote, im mainly a musician, used some uad and ssl waves and this is the very first mix.all ITB, trilogy bass and xln drums...real guitar and...vocals:)

I tried to approach the 80's toto/fm/triumph sound (i wish). the mix was fed through ua2192 (hence any "analog" results...)

the actual wave sounds pretty decent in clubs and bars!
this mp3 is pretty splattered with voxengo and uad at the end, because I used it on myspace too..

thanks for listening:)

p.s. yes, havent fixed any vocals essing and stuff..yet

Nice song, i like it a lot!!

How did you record/mix the guitars? i am curious!

Listening on pc speakers, the instruments are very nice mixed although i think the snare is a little smacked to death. The vocals need some de-essing an especially the "t's" in the begin in the song is very present, but maybe some heavy automation combined with the de-essing can make it perfect.......

thank u for listening!

my full setup can be found at MySpace.com - Blind Shot-(2 NEW SONGS UP!) - Athens - Rock / Metal / Classic Rock - www.myspace.com/blindshotband, the relevant blog is there.

as for the guitars:

1.I brought an amazing guitarist with very clean and accurate playing
2.Told him to play on his '59 LP classic
3. Recorded him using universal audio 6176 hi-z linked to the compressor using 4:1, being careful not to GR a lot.
4. used vovox cables
5.signal flow was guitar-ua6176-ua2192-cubase
6.after having some good takes, I tried fixing my sound with the uad nigel plugin. marshall stacks 4x12, and used some extra comp with the SSL waves stereocomp (on guitar bus) and some SSL eq mainly below 150, and then fixed my bass accordigly to blend in.

ur right about the snare, I;ll definetely fix it, its "wrong" anyway, if u check out the mp3 waveform u can se the snare transients jumping skyhigh!
