Help Me Find What To Do With This Odd Song

Hi. I've been trollin around here and now its my turn to ask something. I got this song I'm working on and I can't seem to fix it up. The vocals in this are demo... as I would never use my own vocals in my song cause they suck hardcore...

I know I need to add to the beat, but I don't know what I want from it. And I'm thinking of scrapping the entire second verse.

Lastly, what other comments? Any other songs you know that are of the "genre"? That would help me mix it. Thanks.

You might be better served by putting in the real beat and then ask for another opinion. It is hard to judge this song because this genre needs the kicking drums (or drum machine) and bass (this bass was wimpy as heck).

One thing I can say for dance/techno/house: as a general rule of thumb, if the drums and bass are sounding great and the rest of the song doesn't, it still might be passable. If the drums and bass are subpar (or outright suck), it won't matter what the rest of the song sounds like--it will simply be a bad dance song.

If you're looking for a Euro-techno-ambiant sound (or something like that), I'd give a listen to artists like, The Orb, Plastikman, Aphex Twin, Biosphere, Deine Lakaien, etc.
