2nd song to shop in nashville this week

So here's another one.. had to do a LOT of lyrical rewriting with this one...

Mix is a little rough and sparse... but I laid this all down in 2 hours, so I'll go back to it after I sleep and do my day job.

Another one of my uncle's ideas, but far better than the last one... Last time everyone was interested in lyrics and melody far more than production. That's what I'm interested in here.

"Nickel for 50 cent"

Better than the last one as far as lyrics are concerned. There is just something about it that doesn't click. It seems like a novelty song that would be on an album from a theme park entertainer. I don't think this one could ever be a hit because it directly "attacks" (for lack of a better word) 50 Cent.

yeah only rappers can attack other rappers and have it be a hit. weird for country to talk about rap. there is that song by phish or someone who covers gin and juice and it was kinda funny. if you wanna do it, it has to be way more ridiculous, over the top. think about how south park would approach it e. ide make the whole song about how 50 is a snitch or somethin

The production is really good - you sound great...really...but have you listened to country radio? This would be a killer songwriter round song - tongue in cheek kinda thing - but it's not something someone is going to sign you to a publishing deal over. Look - I think there's a lot of drivel on the radio right now - and I certainly think if you're writing for the radio, you're about two years behind the times, but there are some good songs out there. I would say pick out some great writers and listen to how they craft a song...Hugh Prestwood, Hillary Lindsey, Steven Dale Jones, Jeff Steele, Anthony Smith, etc...
These are great, but write something that means something - and I'm telling you, there's no reason you couldn't land a writing deal. Disregard all of this if you're a seasoned vet who put this up as a lark...
