| Listened to this first song... In the loud parts, it sounds like the snare is mixed awfully high in the mix. Other than that, it sounds like there might be some rhythm issues, especially in the guitar. Everything sounds well recorded, though, including the vocals. In the second song, the guitar might be a little too loud in the distorted parts. Rhythm is still a little off with the guitar; for example, the first transition from clean->distorted is a little awkward. On these, you may want to think about re-recording the guitar and maybe even recording the clean and distorted tones separately so you have more control over volume, especially if you're going to pay money to have it mastered. |

| Gear interested | Bring up those HIHATs. It's such a subtle instrument but hearing that nice hat click makes a song for me. I may be weird but the first time I listen to a song I'm listening for nice clear ride and hat patterns. Also, I would push the vocals down a little, sounds like he's in another location singing over a karaoke version of the song. He needs to sound more a part of the band. Maybe cut out some Mids in the guitar and drum to free up space, so the singing can be lowered but still stand out. As for if the song is good or not, that's for you to decide, I personally dig it, but thats all subjective anyway. good luck. Hope to hear more. |
