"I'm So Tired" another R&B joint,

this track is very Mary J production wise as well as the singer...some notes ain't perfect(i don't auto tune) but let me know how it sounds so far, if it needs another performance we can do that.

Peace

The fake pizzicato isn't very nice imo, very 'cheap', and too loud. The other strings aren't too great either, they sound like a cheap rompler as well. What you used for them?
The vocals, drums, bass, effects and co all sound pretty fine and solid tho! Vocals may stick out a bit more in some parts, it's the main 'instrument' in the track after all

korg karma for all the sounds of the melody i think, they don't sound real but I don't think they sound cheesy either IMHO(not my production either so not my call)

yea i guess if I lower the pizzacato the vox will stick out more by itself

Hey, I seen that you had a song on here as well and I thought I would give you some feedback as also. If ya don't mind.
Here we go...
The groove is nice. It's got that Dave Hall (old Mary J.) type style to it. The pizz is kind of out there though, you could make it sound better by maybe adding a lower part with that (an whole oct down) and add some lows like 150hz on the low part. Make it kind of punch through. But turn them down.

Run a Autotune on her. If not on the lead at least on the BGV's She's kind of hitting some unwanted notes there. The vocals have to be polished in R&B. No matter how good the singer maybe. Hook her up.

Other than that, cool song and good luck.

Sorry in advance for any misspelled words, phrases or not using the right meaning/s at the right times. So get over it and back to the post at hand!!! Thanx....

How long does it take to do a mix. - UNTIL IT'S DONE!!!
One thing I'd like you to understand. It's much easier to be done than to be satisfied!!

The beats sound a lot better then the other stuff i heard from you.....only the snare could use a bit more snap......maybe a tamborine sample layered on top or something. The kick sounds fat.

You better crack open that copy of autotune 'cause she's singing really out of tune.

The pizzicato line is too complicated and monotonous.....it's not something that people could hum or sing, therefore it's not a good "hook".....also it has way too much low freq's.......shelf it down at around 600-1000hz.

Anyway, a big improvement!

Thanks for the compliment, its cuz of the likes of you and others.

I hear you with the autotune thing but her style is similar to Erykah Badu/Billy Holiday. But I guess too much is too much

i'ma try that tambourine trick!

Jazzius:

If you don't mind could you run this whole mix thru the culture vulture, i wonder if that could get the snap in the snare?
