Rap Mix, Please Give Suggestions

YouSendIt - Send large files - transfer delivery - FTP Replacement

I know its not the best mix, I did what I could because the beat I had was mastered, My chain is simply AKG Solidtube>Waves RComp>Waves REQ for vox...let me know ways to improve my vox, cuz in my opinion they are a bit burried, (which is no surprise cuz of the mastered beat, I didnt mix it or make it), and are a little harsh.

Comments, suggestions?

Although I didn't get to listen to the mix on my studio monitors, It sounds like the track is to loud all and all... Maybe compress the vocals a little more to bring them out in the mix and definetley use a de-esser to round off some of the sibilance.. Other than that I thought it was pritty good... Maybe U could do me the same favor and take a listen to my mix in this forum..... It's tough to get a response in here.... Butt that all homie... EASY!!!

Definetly in the ballpark! Sounding good dude. Like SPS said, the esses are up there! Vox are bright! Do you like your ab libs that loud? Some are in there, but a lot in the verses are really up. Even the breakdown vox sound really bright. Are you mixing really loud? Sometimes tames the highs after a while due to fatigue and makes you wanna boost the highs a little more than they should be. A little more volume automation to bring out all the parts of the vox would help too. Instead of maybe compressing it further. Just my 2cents.
But then again, I mix kinda weird stuff. Ala

Sounds to me like he was to EQing the high end to match the mastered instrumental.

As for the volume, the compression settings aren't bad. You either need to simply turn them up or turn the instrumental down, most likely the latter since a mastered track is going to be slamming the 0db point...
