Where It All Comes Down

I think I finally figured out how to get my drum sound just right.

The song is over compressed - the harmonized - chorus, weird robotic voices are not doing it for me I think it sounds corny...

But,

The song is really cool, lose and have something nice... I think your voice is nice...

I would keep it simple - just the guitars, bass and lead voc - though I think the bass sounds pretty crappy. And the mix is not rubbing my back. I would go for a clean warm sound without this much compression or what you put on the mix?

Yeah....those BVox don't quite make it. I like the concept, though, so I stuck 'em in there with an old Vocal Quintet.

Actually not a lot of compression in there.....I'm pretty much a reformed compoholic. Nothing on the acoustic guits and that's quite a change for me. I did hit the bass and vox pretty hard on the way in and then took about 2db on the mixbus.
Hmmmmm......I did run the mix out and back in through RME ADI-2...bet that's what you're hearing. I was thinking that the digital mix was sounding a little TOO clean. Think I'll revisit that.

Surprised about the bass......I've been digging it myself.

Serious thanks for the listen and the comments.

And both of you guys do real low key, loose stuff that's always fun to listen to. Good grooves make good music.

So....check it out....

There was really only one thing to do.

I brought in the back-up singers and made 'em do the BVox over. They were warm but thankfully not naked.

In fact, they were still messed up from all that Irish partying yesterday but I think it only affected their performance in a good way.

So cool to have you guys listening.....thanks to ALL who have listened.

Is...this....fun.....or WHAT??

I think your guitar playing is very emotional - beautiful. Both me and my girlfriend like you and we want to make you our baby. I still with my stoner rock backround would like a acoustic guitar and lead voice - scrap the backing... But I think these sound way better... Still the mix is weird - To me it sound compressed...

My idea;

Track the guitar with a nice tube mic and good warm pre - and do the vocals with the same mic setup... Or better do the vocals live with the guitar... I think that would be awesome if you can nail it down... It's all about getting that perfect take - I do that a lot... It's nice.

Good work man... Cool song - !
