Wannabe A Hero

So.....check it out. You songwriters know how serious we tend to get about our tunes, right?

Well, this one is just for fun.

Last Saturday I was just in the mood to track some acoustic guitar....you know, check mic placement, just killing time really. So I got about 4 mins. of Martin down when the boys showed up and started in on Guitar Hero outside the studio.

Done for the day, right? Nah....I just fired up a stereo track and recorded THEM (through the open door). Funny thing is, when I listened back the Guit Hero track lined up pretty nicely with the Martin....near the end.

Anyway, I spent the rest of the day watching golf on the studio TV (sampled Johnny Miller near the end also) and tracked the rest on Monday.

I know it's been said before but.....is this fun, or what?

Overheads could be a little louder since its not really a kick snare type jangle. It would fill it up and make it sound a little clearer. The bass should be more present also. 4 dB up/ low mids up...

OK bass and OH's up a little......I like the difference. I'm a bass player at heart so I usually get the bass the way I like it and then back it off a bit. Go figure, right?

Thanks to all for giving this tune a listen.

If anybody has any suggestions for further tweakage....I'm all ears.

Nope....no ebow. Just a couple of humbuckers and a couple of cranked amps. Oh yeah, had the wah happening in there....that got a little slinky.

Guit chain.......

Guits/Amps........
Electric Rhythm - '71 SG>Carvin VT112/Peavey C30
Acoustic Rhythm - Martin/Sigma (KSM32/Senn e609)
Lead - Custom Strat>Peavey C30/Fender Pro Jr.

Tracks....let's see........

Tribal drums sample (1)
Martin acoustic (3)
SG (2)
Strat (2)
EB3 bass (1)
Piano (1)
Bunch of drums (5)
