Well... I'm spinning glo sticks right now, werd. ;)

I like the up front bass / riff line and the sampling / scratches... love the Ozric Tentacles sounding squishy noices at about 1 minute... how did you do those?

PS: Personally in my limited time here... I find less people want to talk about mixes... than GEAR on GS... maybe post to TapeOp... actually not many electronica people there, not sure how it would be recieved, but good luck either way.

I liked the Chems early stuff and you have got that character in your mix (which I enjoyed) - is it ITB?

I listened through Bose (noise-reducing) headphones and found the track benefited from from TruBass on WindowsMediaPlayer although I suspect this is to do with the mp3 format (and headphones) rather than the original file.

Good luck

thanks u guys..

the zric Tentacles is my virus TI with lotsa of automation.

its all ITB except for distortion on the synth which i use a RAT distortion pedal.

so, what is the truebass u mentioned? it compensates for bass?

form what i get is that its little too bright...

cool thanks.

Sounds cool. The breakdown between 1:30 to 1:42 is too cliche for my taste but props to a good job. ITB mix?

hahah.....its ITB except for the distortion on the synths which is RAT pedal.

oh and on the bass.

but now i realized my own answer would be a B section. although i want it to keep it kinda the same to make for for "TV". kinda for music production libraries.

of course any ideas and comments are welcomed. long since i was "attached" to my songs and defended them.

Yes, our songs are like our own little children that we raise up and defend blindly hoping that they mature, do well in life, and amount to something.

Ok, I'm a HUGE fan of the whole big beat sound (circa late 90's).. As far as your mix, U really nailed the drum & main guitar riff part. In fact, it's probably more punchy than some of the retro stuff (apollo 440?). I checked on both my Gen 8050's and my crap TV monitors, and it really popped through the TV nicely (ok, I'm a bit jealous, can you you share a bit more on how you got that sound?? cause i often struggle with getting things to kick on crappy speakers!!)

My only comment is that the mix lacked a bit in the mid interest.. prob. more of an arrangement thing.. What i mean, when i listened to the TV speakers, all i really only noticed the beats and the guitar. The synth line towards the end of the song is cool, but i think it could come in earlier, and a lot louder/present. also, the sample "beat the bass", especially in the break downs, hmm, i just feel it could be louder, more in your face.. The thing about the older bigbeat stuff/fatboy/prodigy style is that the breaks really lifted you, and then came crashing back into the hard beat.. maybe the overall compression of the track is smoothing out a bit too much?? (ya, i know its mp3, 160, but still...)

Any way, I'm no expert and haven't worked on this style in a few years, so my comments are more of a fan. I think it's an awesome mix, and just wanted to chime in (just cause i can ).

Best of luck
qubi

Sounds pretty good overall. Pretty smooth and glassy for in the box. Sounds like it could be on one of those high energy truck commercials.

checked the tune then went to ur myspace, I don't really listen to a lot, well any of this kind of music, but am really impressed with the depth in ur mixes, all in the box? I imagine analogue synths and well chosen verbs, eqing, help with this....good stuff.
