Hardcore/Punk Song rough mix... out of boredom

hey check out the hardcore song i wrote and recorded when i was stuck in a mixing rut! it's pretty funny.

I wouldn't call this hardcore, and I certainly wouldn't call it punk. I'd simply classify it as modern rock.

I like the song! The mix is good, but the master is kinda fatiguing and harsh. I'd like to hear more low/mid color and less high end.

The vocals are very hard to understand, but that doesn't bother me (although I guess I'm missing something funny?) Also, I think the song is a little long. I would've cut the last repetition.

I like the mix, and the song is cool! Good job! How do you prepare yourself to record vocals for a song like that? Watch videos of fluffy bunnies being mistreated, or video footage of George Bush, perhaps?

yeah, well i must say the song isn't completed, and probably never will be, because it's not going to be used for anything. i was simply bored. how do i prepare myself? Mixing someone elses crappy project for 2 days... anyway, this is what's considdered hardcore around boston, it's in the vein of bands like Hope Conspiracy or Ringworm... check them out if you're interested.
