Are you able to critique this song for me?

Hi

The mp3 is at : http://www.bigbadroo.com.au/striking...utakesugar.mp3

First thoughts?

Cheers

I like the mix, I think it's great! Good job! It sounds a tad bit small overall (width is good,) but maybe I've just been listening to too many Barresi mixes lately.

Just curious...what's the target audience with this music? Looking for that elusive Ween/Smashmouth crossover demographic?

Are you able to be more specific about the musicianship - what aspects could I look at?

Well Alex, I'm into writing slightly quirky stuff with a rhythm that'll make people want to dance. So whoever falls into that category.

I'd love to work with a producer on some stuff. This song, like my other stuff, was self produced, with programmed drums, bass, and keys, and at the end of the day, production, arranging, mixing, and playing instruments are not things that I'm particularly good at or want sole responsibility for. I'd rather just write, sing, and co-produce, or even write for other bands. This was ITB too, so it would help having someone who knows what they're doing with some decent gear. It would be nice to know what the songs could turn into with someone else inputting ideas too.

Here's another one I did the other week: http://www.bigbadroo.com.au/playa_1.mp3

Thanks for the encouragement BTW!

uhhh

See Im glad th eguy above me commented... Because this is an okay mix.. Of a very stereotypical sound thst is neither stellar or commercial, in fact it doesnt fit the muster of the sweet spot sound at all.....
everything is way over compressed and put in the eq spots for loudness but no real dynamics...
This is a 10 second song.... Next... Is the impression
The mixing however is decent... just really really loud
