A Trident T24 and an Original U67 "El Paso"

At my Buddies studio we came up with this... I am trying to go for a vintage sound with big bass curves... Its hard to judge...

This is a Very Fun Console

"El Paso"

The acoustic has a proper vintage tone to it (nice), the vocals are almost there.

Bass is booming, needs fixing - shouldn't be hard.

Drums are maybe too modern sounding to fit right...what are your options, are these samples?

The piano sound is crap.

You know

I actually dig that sound... But this is a Mix... not a master... and for mix that is just leveled off I think it sounds pretty damn good... This console is f*cking amazing.. But yeah, I know what you are saying about the boom... We corrected that.... not samples at all... Just a simple Dave Bazan style...
todd is gonna say its not in time :)~~~~~~~~~~~~
I guess I should post an updated version....

Yea do that.

I think if you worked at getting the drums sounding worse and the piano better, the mix and song would come together nicely.

there's some real eq issues with that bass. it's just way too bulbess and blooming all over the track. vocals do sorta have a vintage vibe. i kinda agree with the comment about the piano.it's like the sostenuto pedal was never used once, which usually indicates a novice playing and really limits the sound. the nylon guitar solo was on a seek and destroy mission. just couldn't find the phrasing or right notes, or the mode that worked. i liked the kik but overall the kit doesn't sound vintage. simple fix: add more oh mics into the mix if there even are any. but while this is overall better than your reggae song especially sonically it's still pretty stiff.especially the drums. really needed a couple of light crashes here and there for accents and is frankly just boring as hell playing.no vibe or groove. but i'd take the vocal as a positive. the vocal sound is much better than a lot of stuff i've listened to here recently, even with the pitch issues here and there. ..your voice really reminds me a lot of david usher.
