Song we finished today

Hi!

Today me and my friends finished our last song.
Link: Box.net - Free Online File Storage, Internet File Sharing, Online Storage, Access Documents & Files Anywhere, Backup Data, Send Files

Please note that the drums were recorded in a room at a school
(not al that good acoustics) using Samson C01's as overheads.

Vocals were recorded at home using my rode NT2A.
Guitars are all Amplitube2.

Can you please give me some tips for improvement? I'm new to
mixing (this is the second song i'm mixing). Please help.

Wink

Although the quality is very good and the studio masters are probably even better, the only problem I have is the confidence of the vocalist.

He's holding back and is even off-key every now and then.

Otherwise, the song seems good-to-go for radio.

I thought the title of the song was "Love Her Hate Her" and I thought hey, that's catchy! I did not hear that phrase in the song though. Sounds clean and punchy anyway. You can always re-do the vocals if needed.

I also got caught up by the vocals. Maybe they should be further back in the mix, maybe they could use some thickness. I liked the guitars and the drums, but didn't like the organ part so much.

Here's an idea: run through the song "live" in the studio and just record the vocal track. I bet he'd (you?) do better on a more live take.
