Rock song with female vocals, all ITB

All mixed ITB. Just a room verb from a MPX1 and a plate from a M300.
Used UAD, Waves, etc...
Mixed with DP 4.6.

Comments please!

Hi Jeronimo,
Cool song! and sounds like a good mix to me.
I mix entirely ITB too but I had a question about how you did the tracking.
What levels did you record at?
And when starting the mix, which element did you start with, the rythmn section or the lead stuff (vocals etc).
I'm still pretty new to this so some pointers are welcome here too.
Thanks, Van Speijk

Nice! I dig it! I take it it's mastered and done with? Sounds a little OTB-y!

I think it sounds great, I would've liked to hear a little more "meat" or "warmth" in the master. Maybe more low mids in the guitars? I find I'm saying the same thing about a lot of masters these days...

I also would've liked to hear some backup vocals in the chorus too!

The snare fills sound a little rushed...like they were sampled at a different tempo or something.

And where'd that screaming guy come from?

Well, that's all I've got, it sounds wonderful, great job!

That drummer certainlly isn't a slouch! Great performances. I'm not a guy who listens to this genre much... but I do have some friends who record and mix this kind of thing.

My only question is is this an appropriate amount of low end for this kind of song? I kind of wanted a little more deep bass in the kick and bass guitar, but it may not be right for the song.

How many guitar overdubs were there? I'm a big fan of going crazy with very tight overdubs using different cab's, pedals, guitars.

It sounds really nice and open as it is, and you manage to make the singer sound very articualte and out front in the midst of a very energetic sounding mix.

Van Speijk: I tried to keep everything peaking below -10 on PT. Maybe the bass DI'd went a little over it, but the bass thru the SansAmp Bass Driver (which is the main tone) is below -10.

AlexLakis: Thanks for your comments. I do recognize I've been tracking guitars with VERY little low end... it's crazy you just mentioned it 'cause a few days ago I noticed this and started leaving some more "beef" on the guitars...
About those drums... it's me drumming I'm not a great drummer but the band's drummer was way worst
So I told'em I could do it, they liked the drummer liked so I went and tracked without any practicing on the songs, I've just listened a few tracks while doing the scratch tracks to start recording the "real" drum tracks.... so YES, I recognize I need more practice with my instrument!!!!
Ohhhhh, and there is NO SAMPLES on this drum tracks!!! NONE!!!!

drakewire: whhhhaaatttt now???

lord_bunny: yes... I must try to put some more low end im my life!!!!!!
there is only 2 rythm tracks (hard panned) and one guitar track on the middle from the "lead" guitar player, where sometimes he's doing rythm, some times he's on a little phrase or something... I'm not 100% sure, but I'm sure there is not more than 3 rythm tracks at the same time.

Lets stop being so modest jeronimo, your drumming was very nicely done, especially that part where your all like put-tat put-da-tat put-tat put-da-tat put-tat put-da-tat put-tat put-da-tat.....that was awsome . That band should thank you for saving the day. Oh almost forgot, the mix sounds fantastic.
