| Some really good punk rock stuff (anti-flag/rancid/opivy-ish) I know I'll probably get a bunch of people telling me they sound nothing like the bands in the title, but oh well. Anyway. These guys came in and were amazing. The drumming was great. Guitarists were great. Singer was fun. Snare>m-201>bae 312a Kick>d112>bae 312a OHs>mxl 603>M12 pres Rack Tom>sm57>M12 pres Floor Tom>sm57>M12 pres Room>u195>M12 pres Guit 1>combo sm57 and e609>bae 312a Guit 2>combo sm57 and e609>bae 312a Bass>JDI as well as sm57>bae 312a Vox>u195>bae 312a Anyway, this is not mixed other than tweaks along the recording process. I can't wait to get really into it and bring some of the guitar parts out and really get the backing vox kicking. Let me know what you think. Factoria Blvd |

| I'd put the guitars closer to the center. Sounds like the same player in both speakers. Same tone, same dist. The distortion doesn't fit the song, IMHO. Too slick. And with that kind of dist, a guitar player can't do much save laying out power chords or/and single string solos. It's almost impossible to do any kind of arrangement with that sound. It's filling the speakers allright, like a pad, but who needs that? In this kind of stuff? This piece could do with some playing - if they (the guitars) could keep up with the drums. That would be totally shit-kicking. Which, I suppose, is the intention? |

| It's actually two players on two different amps and stuff. The guitarist on the left side (imho) had a great tone and could play really well. The guitarist on the right had a terrible sounding amp that I just had to deal with and was a bit sloppy. |

| Lives for gear | this reminds me so much of the band better off dead. you should give their record a listen.. its really raw but they must have all been good players because it sounds great. the one main thing i notice in your recording is the snare.. the drummer seems inconsistent in his snare hits during the beginning of the song. the vocals and bass seem to fit the style perfectly though, so A+ to that. |
