the toms at around 30sec sound horrible, I dunno could be my little speakers here at work, but that I guess is the concept of a mix to sound good everywhere, and it doesn't here

I disagree that the toms sound bad. They sound like they're tuned pretty well.
The kick might have a hair too much low end rumble. There's like this subsonic thing going on that, although cool, isn't totally natural and may be a problem in a mix.

You really need to work on that kick sound. There's too much sustain from the toms ring bleedthrough.

when I was at work listening to it through those speakers, it sounds as if the toms distort at around 30sec, everything else to me sounds good.

yea def. sounds like there is some problem with the tom sounds, and the kick does rumble...on my imac speakers and my small yamaha HR50's..which don't generally rumble bass without a sub attached..

sound like either the toms distort, or there is too much slap or attack on them..doesn't sound like the drum opens up..

did you gate the kick and toms?

Patrick

No gates or EQ the toms are not individually miced, think i might have a faulty head

thanks for taking the time
