Nice mix, but the vocalist sounds like poo. I think most of it is his fault though. This band is being seriously looked at by labels? Ugg, I can't stand these over-dramatic singers singing the most under-dramatic lyrics...

Nice mix though.

Hey Dee..I think you mispelled a word....
It's Pop, not poo

All jokes aside, what don't you like about it? You can't just say it stinks, that's not descriptive enuff. Timbre? Note choice? Vibrato? Delivery?

Not busting balls or anything, just geniunely curious

No, DeeDrive spelled it right, and he gave a reason too. My first impression was that I didn't like the lead vocalist either, and I don't think I even listened to the whole song because the singing was so lame. I didn't post about it because I didn't think you were looking for opinions about the band. As far as what about the vocal, well, what country are these guys from?

Mix is very good but I agree, the vocalist is terrible. Sounds very cheesy. Reminds me of a 'wedding singer' kind of guy. I don't really feel anything from his vocals, doesn't sound genuine I guess is a good way to put it.

The "WUHHsan it" real chorus line especially.

But great mix and good luck my friend!

Athens is not known for its Pop scene...as a matter of fact, I was wondering if it even existed here until these guys moved to town and found me.
That being said....this is my bus stop until Kelly Clarkson gives me a call.

Singer-Lets stick to the production. Do you guys think I did a good job on him efx and sound wise though?

Absolutely. The overall engineering of his voice sounds excellent friend!

Yeah I gave a reason...it's over dramatic and lame sounding. Like creed, or matchbox 20 or one of those losers. That style of singing just doesn't sound honest, like they're trying to fake something.

But, like I said, it's the singers fault, the mix sounds great.

note: music is subjective like any art.

that being said. i think this band sucks and no amount of mixing can save it. (as with any shitty band) let this be some inspiration to help cure the aids of horrible bands currently surrounding us.

p.s. please read the note i left before writing this. because obviously i dont care what you think.

Didn't anyone notice that the drum take is a bit sub par? He sounds like he wants to be in a nu-metal band but this was the only thing in Athens going on. Mismatch of styles.

The mix does sound good, but I'm amazed people didn't pick up on the shoddy timing? Mabye I just happen to have a chronic irregularity in my heart rate...

In fact I need to lay down now....feel dizzy...

I dont like the guitars. Could do with some delay or more reverb as the are a bit dry, they dont seem to sit right.
You should watch out for your pan balance as its not very balanced.
The vox are nice and the backing is done quite good.
I like the arangement and the drums suite this style of music well.
Seems to lack something, not sure if its just the guitars, but could do with more synth at the choruses or something to thicken up the sound.

Cood stuff.
Not Super, but pretty good!

I agree. the singers prowess and lyrics (awful) is moot as far as your work is concerned. The vocal tracking sounds very good. nice job.

I agree about the kik - and drums overall, being a tad forward, but that's a couple of easy moves. Not too crazy about the guitars and the panning. But the guitar challenges seem to be coming from the source. I'm getting a slight tug from the R side in the verses but that's just my .02

Please note that I did not mean I am a "Super" producer....that was not what I meant by the title. Just that it is a Pop tune that needed that over the top production.

Thanks for all the comments....I am going ot once onver this one mo again and I will post the final when I get to it.

So the one thing I am not hearing that I want to hear more about is the panning issue 2 of you have mentioned....Is it an overall thing or are you meaning more the guitars?
I have had an issue with my L/R outs from the Equinox/and or the 192 not seeming to be 100% balanced so it will help me out to know what you are hearing.
Thanks

Maybe ******bag is the more correct word. To me, a loser is someone who if you met them, you think "jeezus, that guy's a loser." I didn't mean success-wise. There are lots of financially successful people that I wouldn't want to spend 5 minutes in a room with...

nice mix! some great hooks in there; love the gtrs coming out of the acapella vox.

i think a lot of the response you've been getting about the guitars and the drums owe to the sounds not being quite there. i really dislike the overall drum sounds and the guitars do sound very pod-y to me as someone above has said.

also agree with whoever said that drummer is a bad match!

but the mix is rad!
