Fun songs. I liked the Hipster one the best.

Here are my first impressions:

Nice "live" raw sound. Doesn't sound over polished. That could be a good or bad thing depending on what you're going for.

The drums sound kinda far away. The kick, snare, and toms all could use a little high end, and maybe just a little more volume. Sounds like you might have a compressor on them that's sucking some life out of 'em. Perhaps try parallel compression on the drums instead to leave more attack in them. I wouldn't turn up the cymbals any. The high hat seems a bit loud sometimes.

The drums could also use more stereo spread. They sound almost mono to me, even listening in headphones.

Not sure what else to say. Keep the music flowin.

thanks

Thanks for the replies guys! The drums tracks used were a xy overhead, a snare mic and a LD condensor a couple feet out of the kick. We were definitely going for a "raw" "live" sound. I agree the drums could be a little too crushed with the compressor(s). But, a decision was made to go with "that" sound.

That hats are mostly a result of the "whole picture" micing and my lack of balance on the kit. I'm really working on the groove and balance of the cymbals for our next batch of tunes. Mental note to really work on the hi-hat. Good info.

Thanks again for the feedback!!!
