Thread Starter | Raw drums and bass, let me know what you think of that I recorded drums and bass for a stoner rock band, the idea was to get a very natural drum sound, and a big "kind of mediumish" bass sound with a little growling. Here's the result : http://sylvain.raulin.free.fr/BUDBATT.wav http://sylvain.raulin.free.fr/BUDBASSE.wav We've got a lots of great gear in the studio, but the room is far from perfect : first point, it's a small room, which sounds kind of "dead", boomy basses (concrete walls with blanket over it), agressive high end. We'll move to a new room in the beginning of 2007, which is planned to sound killer, but for the moment, we have to work with what we have. I think those are pretty good "natural" sounds. They are not processed (except some comp and EQ when tracking with Distressor, UA 1176, API 550B EQ...). I just quickly thrown a limiter on the master bus, a low pass filter on the FOK mic, high pass on the OH. Drums were 13 mics, bass was 2 mics and a DI. Let me know what you think about it. |
