Duchess - indie folk rock

Hey Slutz it's been a while. Had time to record this song a few weeks back. Tell me what you think. The guitar is a little glassy and the snare kind a low, but the song is so beautiful I don't care too much about the mix. Sounds funny, but that's how I feel. I'm attached to a less that great mix. The tune seems to carry itself despite the mix which I don't feel like redoing, but maybe I should. Whadaya think?

First thougth is the acoustic has way too much pic and no body. it's also way too hot. Warmit up and set it back in the mix. it's the only thing I can concentrate on in the mix.

Suck it up and redo the mix. As it is now I give listeners 20seconds before they change the track.

Hi bro!

I like the mix - but the mix seems a little pushed and flat - I would go back and treat the final mix a little more like a woman and the bass needs some dynamic back. I agree on the strumming pick -it's a little too much! I didn't know you where such a sucker for this kind of high end push - It's a little corny because you are trying to please the listener in a marketing way (don't forget you punk roots).

The snare is too loud I would keep back with the rest of the drums - Maybe try to move the drums to the back of the picture. I miss some dimension here.

All this can be fixed... Give the mix some warmth back.

The snare fill at 0:38 is a little off -

"suck it up and redo the mix" I like that kind of honesty

Eventually I'll get around to it...

DL Your comments are as cryptic and concrete as ever

Thanks.
