how is the mix on this? (cover)

hi, here is a cover of a Meshuggah tune. before jumping in on any projects, I decided it would be wise to hone my skills by covering tunes...

can anyone point out to me what is missing and what is too loud? it's my first time trying to mix... I think i'm messing it up badly :(

here's the link

http://www.bloodyvelvet.com/nmcc.mp3

bass cuts out at 25 seconds but resumes at 50

thanks!

more kick/snare, less sizzle on the HH, more drum room, less 650hz on the guitars.

well that's what I'm hearing. Best of luck with it. Ask 100 engineers, and you'll probably get 100 different answers.
