MIX-OFF Soft rock/ Pop

I would like to try presenting the song without letting folks hear my version.
This way it will have less influence on your judgement of how to proceed.

Its a decent tune with a good melody and as far as I can tell all the editing and dirty work have been done so it's nice and clean.

The song was inspired by the Wall St collapse of 2008.

Metronome is 89

You have linked your home directory subfolder. Move the "guide you home" to the public folder and "copy public link" in order to people download the stems.

Thanks Spede. First time I have used it and I'm not much of a tech wiz. If I screw it up I might ask for help. Is that OK.

Hey Alex. Again....being my first upload I was a little unsure. It was telling me it would take 7 hours to upload wave so I switched them to mp3. I guess I could fire it off one night before I head to bed and just let it run.

I was concerned that it would take 7 hrs on the users end too.

What is typical practice here?

Very interesting take DJMJ. I like hearing what others unbiased interpretation turns out like. You really stripped it down and added big ambience to fill it in. As the composer that is so hard to do. You want to keep everything and sometimes it stinks when you do.

The only thing missing for me is the drive of the beat is a bit lost but the rest is kinda cool.

DL/UL speed is bandwidth depedent. (ie, how fast you "internet" is). 24/44 Wav files are most common file type (folder size might be anything from 200MB to 2GB). Some people share 16/44 files but that's already somewhat compromised quality-wise.

Slow process it appears. Might take a few days but they'll be here sometime soon. Check back.

Yes but I was running out of drop box room so I axed them. One is a double for the guitar solo and the other is a triple for the filter synth. They were less relevant so I decided on favouring the rest.

OK - thanks for the additional information!

I picked-up the additional tracks and have started my mix.

The tracking quality is very good!

Great Simon glad you like it. This is one of those songs I built piecemeal while I wrote it. I have never mixed it from raw files so an an exercise I am remixing it from scratch and will have a mix of my own to post soon. I hope several of you folks will have a shot at it. It's actually a catchy tune if I do say so myself. My vocals suck a bit but they are usable.

Interesting how people emphasize different instruments. You really gravitated toward the keys I see and kept the vocal dry. That's kinda scary keeping my voice dry.....I usually do anything to hide it LOL.

Here's the writers conception.

Thank you for sharing your mix!

I think your vocals are actually very "radio friendly" - nothing to hide

Sorry for the screwups guys. Rookie moron for online tech at the helm here. I am starting to get it though. Ever since I turned 50 it seems to get harder to learn modern tech stuff. Learning Cubase over the last 3 years was a nightmare for me. Like trying to get a cinder block to absorb water LOL.

Looking forward to hear the track
