I can't really listen over my monitors too much these days or I'll wake up the little one. Please help me with the mix ... I think the bass might be too loud ... but any other criticisms would be helpful. I've been mixing mostly in headphones .. Here is the link to an excerpt from the tune http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/file.php?fid=4410 |

Wake up the little one.... I played my drums fom the time my son was born most every day (he is now 10 years old), but I have a 1 1/2 year old girl now and she has heard me playing the kit from inside mom's belly (while preggo of course) at live shows and practice/rehearsal/ etc. They are good with noise. Just not so loud it will bother their ears. But in the next room..... no problem. My kids have slept right through jam sessions and mixing and such. Oh, I like the tune by the way..... Listening to it right now, but on the laptop. Will give it a listen in the studio soon. Sounds nice here though.

The drums sound pretty darn good. They do sound a little loud in the mix to me. A few minor tweaks on the drum mix, should fix everything nicely. I like the drum, bass and guitar sounds. I'd like to hear the entire song with vox too. Good work! |

Nice mix - but... Why are the cymbals(overheads) in mono? That china cymbal sits right on top of the hats at the beginning. Spread the cymbals out - the toms are the only part of the drums in stereo. Did you use stereo overheads? Jon |

I like it, quite a bit. Got my newborn right here. I use a Johnson Millenium amp. Has plenty of speaker sim and output options. I DO mic it with some 57's E200B's (CAD) and a U87 cause the studio is seperate but I agree setting the mics up and tweaking is a session within a session so... Why not try medium low levels and closer mic positions? And take the advise above that baby might LIKE your jamming, as he should.
