Good stuff man. I'm listening now and I really like the authenticity of the tune. The loose vocal doubles remind me a bit of Beck (which is a good thing IMHO). Very genuine feeling tune (and fun). Mike

Thanks a lot man - means a lot to me. Do you think this stuff could be appreciated by a bigger audience? I'm thinking of releasing a CD - and maybe a mini tour. I'm sick of my home town and I need to meet other musicians. It's hard to know if this stuff work for a CD. My pal Mike (Mica Mountain Works) is a big supporter and he wants to release it but it's great to post here to get some overall feel how my stuff work on others plus feedback etc. I'm going to rework this song - at least give it a try. I wasn't sure I would get any comments on this song because of how it was record. Cheers. |

I think that it would be appreciated by a bigger audience. It is all about connecting your music to the right people through appropriate promotion (internet and otherwise). I know that your music is somewhat anti-establishment, but using the tools of the establishment (i.e., promotion) is the best way to let the right people for your music find your music. There are alot of people out there who are sick of what they hear on the radio and would love to find some genuine, independent music to listen to. I think that myspace is a good start. If you can apply the same creativity that you have applied to your music to promotion, you might just surprise yourself. A good start might be sending out some tunes to independent radio stations (internet and air). Mike |

Great stuff Mike! My friend will probably help me with the promotion because I'm too lazy (=indie, ha!). I think it's hard to communicate when it comes to sell your stuff to a bigger audience. I need to convince myself that my stuff could work. I got really inspired when I watched a documentary about Little Wings. I thought to myself I want to do that to. I love how he communicated with the audience with simple tools. No PA etc. Just drums and guitar. I have more stuff if you are interested: http://www.evileyedcherry.com Thanks again Mike! |

No problem man. Keep up the good work. You may want to start out by communicating your music to small audiences (1 person at a time), it may just snowball in a good way from there. I used to do alot of delta blues stuff (just a slide guitar, foot tapping, and singing), I found that it was a lot easier to communicate with people when the music was kept simple. I think that the simpicity allows the message/feeling to get through more directly.

I'm the one who should thanks! . Thanks you thanks you! Glad you like it! - I tried to re-create the song but no luck so I'm forced to use this one on my promotion CD... I tried to add some fiddle but my finger started to hurt and it sounded out of tune. No luck! - Your feedback got me back on track - now I feel better - thanks! |

Hi Dim, I love it. The vocal(s) is (are) great. Dude, this tune just chills me right out. You really have a great natural feel for the timing / phrasing of your vocals. Do you play the harmonica? Might be a bit too predictable or Dylan-y but might work in the tune..... Nice job man, I really like that. Its going on the ipod. Simon. |

Thank you! I really needed that - I have been trying to recreate the song for 3 days and just found out it was a waste of time. I can't top the the first sketch (the one posted here). I have started another song and I'm pretty happy with it - I have a intro and verse but the chorus is still lost in space. Yes I play the harmonica but not good - more like Dylan when he got the blues. I bought a new Harmonica just for that song but it's impossible to add more - the song is finished. Thanks! |

Wanna' borrow one of my VoicePrism Pluses? Or my older DigiTech Studio Vocalist EX harmonizers? LOL! They are great for doing those doubled and multiple harmonies. |

Enjoy! Don't care to much about the mumbling voice. And thanks again for all kind feedback - I'm a sucker for attention - thanks! |

Hello guys! I just finished the song structure - this is my weakest link. I'm not a good songwriter but I try to learn. I will work on the passes before chorus and verse and also work more with the drum samples, I want to add more pauses and fills. I know the mix is heavy on the low end but I haven't mixed this. Don't mind the lyrics/vocals - it's just mumbling to add some kind of feel and also help me paint around the vocals. I would love some help with the arrangement and hits how to make the song more exiting. Thanks a lot sailor Bob! www.evileyedcherry.com/mix/skiss.mp3 The upload function doesn't work here... |
