Dylan,S Burke,J Blunt-tips on Bkng Vocal mix needed

Hi all

Id be really glad if someone can help me on how to go about getting the "effect" on these 3 backing vocal mixes using Cubase and Waves plugins?

1.Dylan-(album) time out my mind.Track-standing in the doorway.
Theres a slapback delay in the left

2.Solomon Burke (album)Dont Give up on me.Track- Diamond in your mind.
Id like to know how was the backing vocal done.It sounds as if its coming out an old radio

3.James Blunt-track-No Bravery
The backing vocals sound very "far away from the mic"

ive added a zip file containing 5 sec snippets from these tracks

Thanks a ton

Question does the trick lie in the placement of the mic?

Does it help to be further away from the source mic and rec to make it sound as if the person is "behind" in your headphone mix

something like buddy guys sweet tea.Its a beautiful album and amazingly recorded.

i still need some help on my previous post abt the vocal mix on dylan, solomon burke.Any help to get it going, using cubase and waves plugin ,will be appreciated

adios

That's how they got depth in the "old days"

If you want it to sound further back, move it further away from the mic.
