A different tune: country

Not my cup of tea normally, but I got to do this one-off mix for national radio. Live event was recorded on HD24 (not by me). Here a few snippets! Let me know whether I'm in the ballpark for this style

Sounds right in there to me. For a live recording, real nice. Everything is in there nicely.

Good God I hate Country. But sounds really nice for live. What devices if ya know were used to record it? What pre and compressor to be exact. And the sound quality is great. I just hate country but am open minded. Sounds awesome! Gonna listen to it again.

Recording device was an Alesis HD24, FOH desk was an Allen & Heath GL3300. Only mic I know: SM87Beta for leadvox. Direct outs of the desk were used, I'm not sure whether these are post-insert, but I guess so judging by the raw tracks. Otherwise the racks of the FOH eng. contained some run-of-the-mill stuff like Behr. Composers.

I was not involved in the event, only picked up the HD and mixed it.
Compression you hear in the mix is from UAD 1176 & LA2A, Waves SSL channel strip and buscompressor, Waves Rencomp. EQ's likewise... Mixed in Nuendo. Oh, and I really dig the Roomworks Nuendo reverb after using it in these live mixes. Worked out really well.
