Would be awesome to get some feedback on these tracks from our new album "Dumbstruck". Is there anything we could improve (of course there is), are the songs any good, the singing, guitars, bass, lyrics and so on

hej!

i really like your band a lot! you did a great job! i just wanna tell you i like the lead vocal more when it's not dirty if you see what i mean.

also, i'd be interested in recording and mixing details if you don't mind.

how many guitar layers did you record?
how did you record the bass guitar?

in your previous effort (Joint Aktion - Porch Climber - YouTube) i'd like to know mixing details about the background vocals!

it's a lot of questions but thank you anyway

Hi!

Thank you so much for taking the time to listen and comment. It means a lot

I hear you about the vocals. The vocalist say's his wife agrees with you. She also likes it more when he is singing softer

We used 2 guitars for L and R channel and one in the center for chorus, solos and bridges. I think it was a Fender Stratocaster on the L and a Gibson on the R if I am not mistaken

The bass guitar was recorded with a Fender Precision Bass, which was ran into an Avalon U5 direct box and an Ampeg SVT miked with a Sennheiser MD421.

Regarding the song Porch Climber and the backing vocals it was pretty much straight forward. High pass at 200 hz I think and then some top and a 1073 slammed hard for compression.

All the best!

thanks a lot!! i like your sound! it is with the bass guitar that i'm struggling to record. my bassist plays with fingers, (he is very good) just through the D.I and it sounds like there are pop noises everywhere, it doesn't sound good at all to me.. maybe he pops the pickup when he's playing i don't know and i need to figure it out but i can't have him around me anytime, i need to grab a bass guitar to make some tests.

It takes time to get a decent bass sound. You need a good quality bass, a good preamp and a good bass player. Pops and stuff like that might come from too high volume.
