help! snare getting lost in spaz rock mix

in the first section of the song the snare is heard clearly, but in the middle of the song the snare gets completely lost. now i'm having the dilema that if i turn up the snare mics i loose the room sound. but if i turn up the drums overall the cymbals take over. this mix is still rough. i realize there are some imbalances in the vocals. but please give me some tips. thanks

The snare isn't really cutting through anywhere....it needs a lot more crack.

well what do you want? The snare isn't cutting through anywhere...so it gets more lost in the chorus when more instruments come in. If you got it to cut through more, you might hear it better in the chorus.

The who thing needs work. You need to put each instrument in it's place....

if your snare is softer in the mix then other instruments, you won't hear it. Turn your other tracks down. I think the whole kit needs to be up.
