Wow ,
I love the vibe you got there. Tell me about that rhodes sound. Those drums live? Vox is a bit to breathy for my taste, but still dope. nice one man.

Thanks for that feedback.. Rhodes=d.i. through adl 300g into SSL pre. Drums= Mpc'd of old vinyl and eq'd with api. Yeah, vox is breathy, might work on that. Will add jazz guitar.

cool man.. reminds me of Maxwell - Urban Hang Suite a bit.

if anything I would knock the top end out of the bass a bit and get it a bit dubbier and fatter.

I really like the sound & the track

Musically : I'd introduce an extra element / player half way through & let him solo over the last third ... could be a mute-trumpet, tenor-saxplayer, silverflute ...
I'd like to hear some rhythmguitars too through out the piece... Some really solid choppy guitar funkin' along ! .. listen to Sly & the Family Stone for sound inspiration ..
btw, I hear that guitar playing the same Accents as the Bass ... Djhaddah, Djaddah . . . etc

Mix :
Bass can become more fat - blow it up & make it tight - let it be the loudest thing in the mix, no prob...
I LOVE that over done sexy air ! I'd keep it or even overdo it more ! It's what makes the track special ... maybe it's againt the earss of conventional engineers, to the hip scene you created this track for, it's what makes the track happen...!
BTW I'd like to hear a trippy delay every now and then on the Vocal .. in the end of parts ... play with it .. It should be a Tape-echo or emulation of that... with lots of feedback and long release and then you tweak and morph that signal ...

Nice tune .... make sure the bass is REALLY tight .. right now, it is not... it's sloppy here and there in my ears which is a pity !
And oh .. I love the drums ... if it were me, I'd probably wanna have the snare louder a few db cool snare sound ! well done...

Wow the Rhodes sounds awesome - Please go even deeper into how you catch that sound, FX etc... I have been trying to get a good sound forever. My Rhodes are in mint condition. I have the Mark II.

Is this the suitcase?

Great music...

The rhodes really does sound brilliant.

I've been recording a Mark I suitcase. Tried mic'ing it with a few different mics on a Fender amp not sure of the model but nothing sounded very good. Havent tried a DI.

I also like the sustain on your rhodes. I've never seen any other Rhodes models but can you buy a sustain pedal or what not for them?

Would be nice to hear the bass come up a little in the mix maybe at the start before the vocals come in or maybe all the way through.
