A big thanx to all for your comments, good and bad. Let me mull over this mix for a couple of days and I'll post what I think will be the final version. If you would like to hear another song, I have one posted on facebook. It's called "The Fallen" and it's the only other one that is nearly finished, but I will most likely remix it too.

Ah, The Gazette is an "already on top" metal band that come from indie scenes and able to penetrate major scenes in Japan.

Saw and liked your Facebook page, I like your jamming space.

Thanx for the like (we need all the help we can get!) Our practice space is WAY TOO SMALL! I've hit my guitars on the ceiling more than once.

I'm gonna go check out The Gazette right now. I've never heard metal from Japan! \m/

Ours even smaller than that.

Good luck in your journey, see you on top man...

If i could suggest anything, it'd be to really start focusing on the low end. Boost your kick drum around 60 to 80 hz. boost the snare and around 150 hz. There are a lot of highs in this mix. Maybe get a little more bass in the mix, and boost low end on the guitars as well

I'm curious, have you listened to the last version of the song? Much of what youv'e said is the same as others did when I first posted the song. If there is still a problem I will look into it, but I don't want to chase my tail either.

As i have it mixed now the kick lives at around 50hz this just the way the drum it'self was tuned more than anything. The bass guitar takes up space above that and passed 100hz. I need to see how my current mix reacts in different speakers/systems. After a few days I'll put up another more refined mix.

Okay, here is the latest version of this song. I have used all of the suggestions and tips to the best of my ability. I personally think it sounds much, much better, but that's just me.... You decide.

Thanx man. You don't think it's too bassy? Our singer seems to think it's way too muddy and he theinks the guitars are loud.

It can stand a few tweaks. Guitars are kinda loud.
Overall I think it kills what you started with. Take your singer's comments and do another revision. The "save as" function is your friend.

I hear ya... I think the bass and kick are just a bit strong as well. Gonna make very small adjustments, I don't wanna kill the feel of it now. Just clean it up a bit.
