I dunno what you call green day production, early or late albums, anyway i haven' listened in ages...

but I dig your song, as soon as the vocal is there it's great, it works nicely
how did you process the vocal?

Thanks for the compliments,

The vocals were sung thrue a megaphone using a AKG C410 clipon mic (Amek Pure Path DMCL pre-amp), then I used Waves RComp and used a standard Lexicon 300 preset called "Invert Room". Still I am not to happy with the overall result but I am still working on it and hope to post a new mix soon.

Green Day? That's not even close...by a long shot (nothing personal...just saying).

The biggest "issue" I can hear is with the guitars....the bass is in the right spot, but everything else seems to sound funny. There's a lot of reverb or something going on....

I find it too 'cloudy' as well. Drums could be more upfront I guess too.

To get close to a Green Day production, the first thing you need is a pop/punk song and a normal sounding singer. This sounds like scary movie music and the singer sounds like a psycho. It's kinda like trying to get a Lawrence Welk production out of Lynard Skynard.

Yeah you are right singer screams like a psycho, I have to admit.
But what I was trying to achive is a kind of Green Day drum and guitar sound. I'm still in a learning process, also the drums were recorded before my studio was acoustically treated. The amp used on the guitar was a crappy Marshall Valvestate, recorded with a TLM193 however I could have payed more attention to all in the recording process.
Good lessons learned sofar.

Thanks to all for taking your time listening to my work.
