Compositions for critique

Hey ppl,

Hope you guys are well. I got a few tracks that I've uploaded to and would like your thought's on.

I had to use my Music Dealers site for the uploads so I apologize if it's not the "standard" upload location.

Please check the tracks out at Artist Profile - eN.De | Music Dealers

Thanks for your time,
eN.De

Your link does work for me. I can't offer much feed back, I'm afraid, as the musical content is so inert to my ears. I will offer that, if you are a solo artist, the choice of artist name and photograph
suggest - just in my mind - a huge lack of substance. By that I mean there appears to be a studiously chosen "artist" image, but no content. I'll accept that I'm very much not in tune with the listenership you may be targeting, and I genuinely mean no offense. I'm just telling the truth, the only way I know how, as if I were advising a young musician who came to me for perspective.

Hey no offence taken.

I appreciate the time and honesty.

LOL the photo wasn't chosen for any specific purpose...it was the only "appropriate" photo. Never been a fan of photos so my friends end up taken them when I'm not paying attention.

Back to the music, I am a solo producer/composer. These tracks were meant to be accompanied by lyrics and voice. Since singers around my area haven't been able to come up with content (despite loving the music). I decided to keep them as instrumentals for now until I find the right fit. Unfortunately, I don't have a good voice to sing and am not lyrically sophisticated to do it myself.

The target audience would be a younger audience, young adults, teens up to listeners in their early 30's.

Is there anything you can offer on going forward? How can I inject more content for example?

If other people are reading this please provide whatever constructive criticism you can offer.

Thanks

Thanks

Hey, I checked out some of your tracks.
I think you have a nice sense for mood and flow on most of your stuff, seems what you really need are some good performers to bring these tracks to life.

My biggest critique of the tracks as they are is the quality of sounds. To me, they give off kind of a cheap, "kids keyboard demo" kind of vibe. What software/workstation did you use for these, out of curiosity?

If you took this same production and used some really good quality software samples (Say, Native Instruments or something along those lines) I think you would have some real nice pro sounding stuff. Again, that's more of a critique of the sound rather than your production.

Hope this helps a bit, and sorry I can't help you with a good music review website... there used to be a cool site called Garage Band I think (someone correct me if I'm wrong) where people would review each other's submissions, but I'm not sure if that is gone or what... I'd like to know good song review site, as well.

cassnate6259,

I appreciate the time you took to provide feedback.

I agree...I'm constantly looking for performers and songwriters to lay down some amazing hooks and verses to take the track to the next plateau. All the parts are there musically (verse, chorus, bridge) so hopefully someone will fit the bill.

As for the DAW setup. I use Cubase 5 with Reason 4 with a bunch of professional refill packs. I do have NI Komplete installed perhaps I'll give NI a shot on new compositions.
If I continue to use Reason, I'll fatten up the sounds in the mixing stage. I find some of the Reason sounds require some mixing work.

Once again thanks.

If any others could perhaps help with the review site, seems like I'm not the only one that would be interested in it.

Look forward to more feedback

Hey all,

I uploaded a new composition called Angelic Decline.

I would love to hear feedback with respect to it or any of the instrumentals on that page.
