Thread Starter | Live Mix - 2 Cents?
Hi, I mix sound at our Church in Fort Wayne Indiana and we have a Avid Venue Profile that tracks to Pro Tools. I took the tracks home and mixed them in my studio. I used Digital Performer as the DAW, Slate Console, UAD plugs and a few others. Would enjoy hearing any input on how I can improve this mix. http://www.creativesoundimages.com/mp3/Furious.mp3 Thanks for listening! |

You may be going after something totally different,so take it as just my opinion on some things. 1.)The drums and bass are off here and there. You should be able to move them around I would hope and get them back in time. It's a lot of work, but worth it.There is another source playing something that is off also, sounds like a synth. 2.)The snare sounds muffled. 3.)The lead guitar needs to be re-amped or distortion added to get rid of the Line 6 pedal kind of sound it has. 4.)Did you add delay to the lead vocal on the track. It is a little much.Do you add effects in a fx send? His voice could use a couple reverbs, one on the track to soften it a little and the 2nd on an FX send.It is just not sitting in the mix. 5.)There are a lot of things going on with a lot of wet effects going on,it may be a little too much in a few places.Do you have effects on your 2 buss or just individual tracks? Aren't you guy's using in ear monitors and a click? | |

I think the vocals/synth are too loud. Not on my monitors right now tho. On headphones. Using samples for drums? They sound ok. I am working on A Christian rock album right now. But not so forward as this song ![]() John
