Thread Starter | Please advise!, Mix1.mp3 or Mix2.mp3
Hi, I am mixing a little classical guitar number for my friend. I have done two mixes. Please tell me which you prefer and why (classical1.mp3 or classical2.mp3). http://www.grantsv.eclipse.co.uk/mix1/ Thanks for your help, GrantsV |

| I'll give it a try ... Mix 1 has more hyped bass part of spectrum(tube mic(s) or relative close miking?) and seems more compressed; mix 2 sounds more natural to my ears(frequency balance). However, mix 2 seems to have too much ambience, mix 1 is better in this regard. Both recordings are a bit noisy(venue was noisy at the time of recording, perhaps?), and Mix 2 seems to have slight bell-tree like modulation in background(noise reduction side effect?) I would try not to use master compression, if possible. Cheers! |
