New Song "Waiting"

Hey Slutz...

Check out "Waiting". It's the closest thing I've ever done to sounding pro, so I'm pretty happy with it, but there's always room for improvement...so tell me what it needs.

Right off the top I am hearing you adding some LV shadowing harmony or doubling on the verses to add dimension,it would help it sit better. If want the vocal dry, roll the high end off a hair and widen it,it just sticks out because everything else has texture.Put some heavier guitar underneath sooner(1:40) when it hits the chorus but mainly to hold it up before things get heavy. The guitars get a little too harsh and heavy at the end, they sound cool just overbearing, they need to sit back in the mix some.Really need to layer the vocals and harmonies when it gets heavy too, will also help them sit in the mix. Then it would be cool if you cut at 3:22 and went back into something similar to the beginning at the end .It just feels like the song was not over yet.
Snare could use a little more beef underneath through the quieter part.

Really cool song, radio material with some work.
You just need a producer.
Don't mess with Texas.

Dude, I was surprised at how hard it was for me to swallow this stuff...but I did and I listened again with your comments in mind. I think you're spot on and I'm gonna work on this some this weekend. Hopefully I'll post a new mix tomorrow. Thanks for your input.

Hey man,

Thanks for listening and thanks for the compliments as well as all of your suggestions. "Waiting" is significantly better for implementing your ideas. I still haven't posted the latest version, but I'll get it swapped out on soundcloud in the next few days and you'll be able to hear it on the widget above. I've added some low level backing vox in the verses and a heavy guitar in the first chorus. The heavy guitar definitely keeps the chorus from "dropping out" and to my ear made a dramatic difference in the flow of the song.

The one thing you mentioned that I didn't change at all is the ending. I realize this may never be noticed by anyone in the world but me and whoever reads this, but the end of the song leaves you waiting for more and sort of forces the emotion that the lyrics express on the listener, even if he/she doesn't know it. It's intended to be that way. I know it may not be as commercial as it could be, but this is rock after all. For now at least, I'm leaving the ending begging for an outro...not because I think you're wrong, but because it forces that emotion.

Thanks again
