Live Christmas concert recording - opinions please!

Evening all,

My first time posting here so please bear with me! I've spent the last few hours listening through other people's work posted here, so I thought I'd join in

This is one song from a live recording I did from a charity Christmas concert last year, recorded with an 01V96 via an mLAN card and mixed mostly ITB.

Unfortunately the decision to record the concert was rather last minute, so it wasn't an ideal set-up. In particular, the PA was using an SM58 for the vocals so I decided to place a separate mic for the purposes of the recording but it had to be slightly off-axis from the vocalist. Drums were a V-Drum set-up as you can probably tell.

Anyway, would very much like to hear your comments, as I wasn't particularly happy with the mix I ended up with!

Plus if anyone's interested in having a go at mixing it then I'll happily upload the multitrack

Thanks!

I know this is probably a bit too 'classical' for most of you guys, but surely someone has a comment to make?!

Thanks

I enjoyed the mix. I thought perhaps the vocal was a bit to 'rich' in the low-mids, which may detract from the "shine" on the top end. Plus, there seemed to be some "missing" lows (bass instrument?) that would bind the lower spectrum together. Beautiful song, well executed by the vocalist, especially. Well done, and works to make my studio sound a bit more festive :-)

Cheers,

Don
