Thread Starter | Heavy stuff from ITALY
Hi..this is one of the songs from my last work in studio. They're Kubark from italy, i work with them from the beginning (preproduction and arranging) 'till recording and mixing. I'd like to have any opinions from you, i really enjoy gearslutz and i'm opened to any kind of comments (and questions, of course) :-) ps: sorry for the low quality mp3 but the track isn't so short! |

Hey, just wanted to let you know I absolutely love this band now. I've been listening them several times a day for the last couple of weeks after finding this thread. I'm very much looking forward to September 2nd and am very surprised you haven't gotten more responses from others. I'm just getting started in recording myself - so I'm afraid I can't comment much on the mix or production of the music - but the music itself is amazing and I am really enjoying it!

Thank you ![]() The bass is Mike Lull uv4 (uv means Ultra Vintage, a perfect copy of Fender Jazz Bass '60), great instrument. ![]() We used mainly Ampeg svt-2 pro (made in usa), i think you all knows very well this head. Not my fave stuff from Ampeg, but in this session i liked it very much. Cabinet was Bergantino AE410, i already knew this cabinet, really defined mid-high frequency. I got line directly from the bass and put RE20, sm7 and m88. In VIXI i used mainly sm7 and line, if i'm not wrong. I just bring some heavy compression and eq to the line source, distorsion and different comps in chain on the mic. i've tried to have the more clean and carved bass frequencies that i had from the recording and add some dirty mids from the distorted sound from the cabinet. Hope can be enough..if not, ask me! |

Not my cup of tea, but great recording. I love the bass and snare sounds.
