My school "sound a-like project"..

HI...I've just done my mid-term project in school. it's a project called "sound a-like"
I am doing a Paul Gilbert tune - Merry axemas.
the first which named with (kit) is my version
the other one is the original version.
please give me some comment on the guitar mix, and some advice to make it better.
this tune is in key of D
so i need to tune my guitar a whole step down to get the lowest note in the song.
however my guitar is pretty old. for some reason i can't get the right tune on the
3rd string, so sometimes it sounds a bit weird
however, please listen to it!!!

thx

I love the playing..real nice. I hope other snobby dudes will help you out too.

Me guit player too BTW.

Your guit tone is heavy in the 750hz area or so. Its also a matter of quality in the mids and not just eq. But his tone is more full spectum than yours..yours seems to be boosted akwardly in the region I mentioned. Take it down and it will be fuller.

BTW The drums sound like the room track only. They just have world of low mids and no presence.

I love those leads.
