Sountrack (opinions on recording and mix please)

I am working on soundtrack for a movie and this are two themes, short clips, from it. I would appreciate some critics, suggestions and comments on my recordings and mix work.

Thanks a lot!

P.S.
First theme is in mp3 192kbps but another theme is in wav...

those sound good. cool work. I'm actually just about to finish scoring my 1st film. totally different vibe tho. More in the Michael Brook/Ry Cooder sort of style. No drums to speak of, very organic. Lots of acoustic guitar, dobro, pedal steel. Electric guitar picking patterns/parts done through my old Twin reverb with my best attempt at emulating the subtle side of an Eventide H3000 with plugins. You get the drift.
I like the style and sound of your cues. I am hardly in a position to critique recording/mix-wise, as I am def at the beginning of my journey learning how to do these things well. They both sound good to me.
Keep in mind, I am listening on headphones right now too.
In Yaws 1, the cue doesn't feel "glued together" to me until after the :30 mark where the guitars come in and the mix fills out a bit. I don't know if that's just because the drums stand out more at the beginning due to less instruments in the mix? It's not glaring or anything, just gets noticeably(sp?) smoother after the :30 mark.
I really dig the snare and kick on Yaws 2. What are you using for drums and processing them? I would say Yaws 2 is a smoother overall mix. I can hear everything, and it all stands out but nothing is glaringly loud or too soft.
Are you using Logic? That's what I'm using. Doing all the guitars recording-wise with actual amps/mics etc. the keys/piano I have to use sims, as I dont have a piano, Vibraphone or a Moog handy right here. Ha.
As I said, everything sounds pretty damn good, but all that really matters is how it effects the picture. Have you set it picture yet and watched it?
I have found that no matter what it looks/sounds like when I'm working on it and watching on my monitor, i seem to get a much better feeling for how everything is sitting with picture by burning a dvd and watching it on my tv.
Anyway, must get some sleep now.
Take it easy,
Jordan

Jordan, thanks for comments and speech
You are right, second theme is smoother. I did some different eqing and I listened much more to it than to theme 1. Kick and snare on In yaws 2 are samples from live drum on In yaws 1. There is also some parrallel commpresion. All in the box with Fab C plugin. I use Audition 3 as DAW.
Whole drum is recorded with 2 SM58 about 2-3 feet in front of the kit. If you realised there is no cymbals because it would be shitty recorded with 58s... I put some very short drum mashine samples for strong attack. Bigness of drum is, in this situation, made by reverb room into commpresion, squeezed...

The concept is to make music just knowing the story of the film!

I thought it sounded really good, but its difficult to tell outside of the actual visual context. Quite song like and I half expected the vocals to come in. Cool guitar sounds and a nice ambience as well.

Could you put the visuals/music on vimeo or something?

Cheers
Chris
