Released my "EP" Mind taking a listen?

Hey how are you guys doing? Well I released my first "EP". Wanted some real artists and producers to take a listen and give me some advice or constructive criticism. Thanks a lot.

that’s impressive stuff mate.

‘hooked on phonics’, ‘Real Rap’, and ‘Grand Entrance’ are all really well mixed. The only trouble is, they’re a lot louder than the rest of the tracks. I guess that’s partly because they’re a cleaner kind of production.

Did you get the EP mastered? On future releases, I reckon you need to get more uniformity of volume between them all. The ones that are more sample-based (which is more my thing) don’t hit as hard as the ones that are more keyboard-based. It’s quite a mix of styles there.

‘true feelings’ - that’s a lovely snare sound. Vibe is quite Roy Ayers, very nice. Matter of taste, but I might have added a tiny bit of soft reverb to that snare. But sounds great.

‘Do it For...’:
I think I like this track best in terms of music and musical ideas. Another cool snare sound. I think it’s probably not mixed as well as the rest of em though. I’d pan the hi-hat closer to the centre and maybe either turn it down a touch or brighten it slightly. I also think some of the drums kind of trip over themselves, which makes the vocal delivery do the same. If you were ever gonna remix it, I’d try to simplify some of the drums. The vocals aren’t mixed as clear as on the other tracks, & I think the rapping isn’t quite as on-point as on the other tracks. Music’s very cool though. Kind of reminds me of Souls of Mischief.

Overall though, that's a really good EP. You should be proud of yourself.

OMG thanks binarymilton I didn't think I was going to get good reviews. but yes but just to let you know from "grand entrance" to "C.O.E." was mixed by Glen Nicholls on this forum. but I mixed the from "hooked on phonics" to "real rap". but thanks a lot for the constructive criticism, so what do you think overall as far as the lyrics production etc?

Hi

Sounds great

Vocalist sound great

Sound of the 1st song is great

The buffering on this website is kinda slow so its hard to listen to all the songs without interruption.

The bass on do it ft comes too early, sry dont like it :P
The vocalist goes too hish in gain on chorus.

Please be sure to check my music at this thread and replay on this thread as well thanks!

I didn't analyse the tracks in detail was just getting a feel for it. I had another critical listen jusst now
My first impression is a professional sound and very good vocal sound - male vocals standout as the best part of it - the strength of the tracks is in the male vocals
I agree that do it for ft.dy has a strange soft bass drum - out of time/grooveI'm no expert but the music in grand entrance could be mixed better - sounds likes its pumping with compression - not sure about the snare sound.
The vocals are ace - the music great but not up to the standard of the vocals possibly
Also do have a listen to meymias music - he seems to be a genius mixer/engineer - to my tone deaf ears :-)
