Raucous Stoner Rock from Melbourne

Hello Chaps,

So, introducing The Hidden Venture

Basically I'm one of three in the band (bass and bv's), and for this track I did all the recording, mixing and even mastering.

Before someone chews my head off, yes I'm entirely aware that someone could record, mix and master it better than I, but it all comes down to budget, of which there is none, and the fact that I enjoy doing this

It was recorded in a beautiful house out in the bush with very high ceilings and bluestone walls - you can probably hear them in the guitars which we are really happy with - we certainly wanted to get more of that room than up close guitar mic'd sound (however I recorded those to blend in with the rooms).

Drums and bass are completely live, no editing whatsoever. There are some guitar overdubs but nothing too crazy. Recorded two amps for each take.

Main vocals was done in 2 takes at my house (anymore and my girlfriend and neighbours probably would have killed me), BV's in just a pass for each.

So, anyone have any opinions on the mix?

Cheers
Alex

I had a suggestion at first, but once everything kicks in together I can't say squat haha. This is a good thing.

The only thing I feel I can really say is that it feels as if the vocals have no body but I know every voice is entirely
different from another, so that's really the only thing I can say is that I'm missing a sense of fullness. Then again, it's 2:30 am
and I'm probably tired lol.
